This painting was completed for the North Carolina duck stamp contest in 2015. This was my very last acrylic painting of my career before switching to oil paint. I wanted to bring out the color in this painting by using intense sunlight glowing off of the birds with a dramatic blue sky illuminating the background and backs of the birds. The result is something I think
